Chelsea transfer target Isco has confirmed his intention to stay at Malaga for the time being, according to Sky Sports.

The Spain international signed a new contract with the La Liga club in January, but speculation continues to link Isco with a move away.

Real Madrid and Chelsea are thought to be monitoring his availability at Malaga, but Isco has moved to reiterate his desire to stay put for the foreseeable future.

Speaking to Spanish radio station Canal Sur Radio, Isco said: "My head is here and my future is in the hands of Malaga.

"If the club decide to sell me because they need the money, I cannot do anything. I don't have a say there.

"But hopefully I can stay here for many years. That is what I want. I am really enjoying it here."

Malaga's well-documented financial troubles have led to the departures of several key players in recent seasons.

Nacho Monreal left for Arsenal on transfer deadline day last month, following Spain international Santi Cazorla to the Emirates Stadium.

Cazorla, who has established himself as a key player in north London, left Malaga in the summer.

Isco is a player in a similar mould to Cazorla - tricky, two-footed, and with a keen eye for a pass.

The 20-year-old won his first Spain cap last week, making his debut in the 3-1 win over Uruguay in Qatar.

The Malaga playmaker has been one of his club's most important players this season, and a key reason behind their fine Champions League form.

The La Liga club, although struggling financially, qualified top of their group ahead of AC Milan, and face a last-16 tie against Porto.
