Manchester United & Chelsea join chase for £10m Asian starlet
Manchester United & Chelsea transfer news: Son Heung-Min linked with move from Hamburg
Manchester United and Chelsea are the latest Premier League clubs to be linked with a move for South Korean starlet Son Heung-Min.
The Sunday People claims both clubs are keen on the £10million-rated Hamburg forward, who has earned comparisons with Real Madrid superstar Cristiano Ronaldo with his ‘dazzling skills and goals’.
Sir Alex Ferguson and Rafa Benitez aren’t the only English top-flight managers keen on the player however, with Tottenham Hotspur, Arsenal and Liverpool all linked with moves for Son in the past.
However, the Tottenham Hotspur chief has a battle on his hands to bring the player to White Hart Lane, with the emergence of two title contenders in the race for Son’s signature.
Indeed, the report in The People claims Manchester United scouts are ‘camped out’ in Hamburg as they look to add to their squad in the summer.
A move to Old Trafford would also have positive commercial implications for the Red Devils, as they look to make strides in Asia following Park Ji-Sung’s exit in the summer.
Chelsea have similar plans to take advantage of the Far East market, and the talented 20-year-old attacking midfielder would also add to the depth of squad at Stamford Bridge.
Confusion over the Blues’ managerial situation in west London could work against the club however, as owner Roman Abramovich prepares for a future without Benitez on the King’s Road.
