Arsenal are preparing to offer Arsene Wenger a two-year contract extension, despite the club's shock FA Cup exit at the hands of Blackburn Rovers.

The under-fire Frenchman has hinted he wants to stay to reach two decades in the Gunners hot-seat, ending all talk he will go when his current deal runs out in June 2014.

Chelsea captain John Terry says talk of a rift with Rafa Benitez is rubbish, as the Blues eased past League One Brentford in their FA Cup fourth round replay at Stamford Bridge on Sunday.

Terry made a goalscoring return in just his third start under Benitez - and took the opportunity in his post-match interview, to say he is on good terms with the interim manager.

Manchester City striker Sergio Aguero still believes that the reigning champions can retain the Premier League title this year.Roberto Mancini's men might be fighting a 12-point deficit, having taken just two point from their last three games - but the Argentine is confident they can repeat last season's turnaround, and beat Manchester United to the domestic crown.

Reading boss Brian McDermott believes Manchester United winger Ryan Giggs will one day become a great manager after the two met on a training course. The Royals boss visits Old Trafford for tonight's FA Cup fifth-round clash with the Red Devils, and he believes the Welshman can make as big an impact as Sir Alex Ferguson.

Tottenham defender William Gallas has hailed team-mate Gareth Bale as the equal of Cristiano Ronaldo over a dead-ball.

The Frenchman was full of praise for the near-unique way in which the Welsh winger strikes the football, revealing it is the result of a lot of hard work.

And Finally Lionel Messi's Barcelona team-mates heaped further praise on the forward after he took his goal tally for the club to a staggering 301 with a double against Granada. The Argentinian made it 37 goals in 24 La Liga games this season as Barca came from behind to win 2-1 on Saturday.
