Manchester United predicted line-up v Reading

Manchester United manager Sir Alex Ferguson is set to shuffle the pack ahead of Reading’s visit to Old Trafford in the FA Cup fifth round.

Danish international stopper Anders Lindegaard will be hoping for a rare start between the sticks, with David de Gea set for a deserved rest after his heroics against Real Madrid in the Champions League.

Nemanja Vidic should return after missing the match in Spain, with left-back Alex Buttner also in-line to replace to Patrice Evra. England defender Chris Smalling could feature at right-back, with Jonny Evans taking the other central spot.

In midfield, the Red Devils are without Paul Scholes through injury, but Anderson and Tom Cleverley are likely to combine at the heart of a 4-4-2 formation, with Luis Nani and Ashley Young the attacking threats on either flank.

Up-front, Manchester United have plenty of options, and Javier Hernandez would appear to be a certain starter. Robin Van Persie has voiced his desire to start as well, but Wayne Rooney is more likely to get his chance in the centre.

Manchester United predicted line-up v Reading:

Anders Lindegaard; Chris Smalling, Jonny Evans, Nemanja Vidic, Alex Buttner; Luis Nani, Anderson, Tom Cleverley, Ashley Young; Wayne Rooney, Javier Hernandez.
