Bayern Munich star Thomas Muller is desperate to claim a massive Champions League triumph this season after last year's unfortunate penalty shootout defeat in the final to Chelsea.

Muller scored in normal time in at the Allianz Arena before Didier Drogba equalised for the Blues who went on to win the shootout thanks to a decisive penalty from the latter.

But Muller insists he is not looking back and he does not intend to use last season's experience to motivate him in this campaign.

Bayern take on another Premier League side next in Arsenal in the last 16 on Tuesday night and Muller is not drawing prepared to use last year's nightmare as the reason for inspiration this term.

"I do not care for revenge," the German international told Kicker. "I just want to win this thing, as quickly as possible.

"Therefore, our goal this year again is to get to the final again. We are in good form and are not afraid of Arsenal. We strive to play to our maximum everywhere."

Muller claims that Bayern fear no one in this year's competition despite the fact that AC Milan, Juventus, Manchester United, Real Madrid and Barcelona all remain in the mix, although he does recognise that those top sides can be dangerous.

"We can compete with any team in Europe," he added. "We know from the last three years what we can achieve.

“However, Barcelona are able to play exceptional football, and also Manchester United are constant threats in England.

"(Barcelona) have broken incredible records. For years Barcelona have worked in this way.

"Their growing understanding within the team applies to us as well. For example, because the whole team takes part, we are better defensively this season."

With the Arsenal tie fast approaching, the 23-year-old says there is a need for Bayern to beat the Gunners en route to Champions League glory.

"We want to win against Arsenal," Muller added. "No matter when and where, we have to win this thing (the Champions League) at some point."
