Sir Alex Ferguson has revealed that Phil Jones looks set to miss Manchester United's clash against QPR this weekend after limping off in their FA Cup 5th Round win against Reading last night.

The Red Devils secured their place in the FA Cup quarter-finals with a 2-1 win over the Royals thanks to goals from Nani and Javier Hernandez, before Jobi McAnuff set up a tense finish with a strike after 81 minutes.

Despite easing past their Premier League opoonents with minimal fuss to set up a date with either Chelsea or Middlesbrough, Manchester United boss Sir Alex Ferguson will be concerned by the injury to Jones, who limped off in the first-half with an ankle knock.

The England international excelled in Manchester United's 1-1 draw with Real Madrid in the Champions League last week - only his 14th appearance of the season thanks to a series of injuries.

The 20-year-old was spotted leaving Old Trafford on crutches after the game last night, and Ferguson confirmed that Jones' injury woe looks set to continue with Saturday's clash against QPR fast approaching.

We'll have to assess it in the morning," said Ferguson. "It's an ankle injury obviously so I'd imagine he'll not be ready for Saturday anyway.

"But we'll see what he's like after that."
