Atletico Madrid star denies his part in Chelsea swap deal for Falcao
Chelsea transfer news: Thibaut Courtois will not be used as part of a deal for Radamel Falcao
The 20-year-old Belgian stopper continues to impress on his second season-long loan spell at the Vicente Calderon Stadium, prompting a raft of speculation linking him with moves to a number of rival European clubs.
Courtois has made clear he sees himself as Petr Cech's long-term successor at Stamford Bridge, and in a recent interview with Belgian TV station Sporza, would not be drawn on rumours he could be part of a deal to bring Falcao to west London.
"I do not think that Chelsea want to sell me from what I hear," he said. "Maybe it is true, maybe it is not. I did not expect to reach this level of performance."
The European champions have been continuously linked with a move for Colombian hit-man, Falcao, the 26-year-old striker scoring 20 goals in 21 La Liga appearances for Atletico Madrid this season.
However, his £45million valuation might prove to be a little too much for Chelsea owner Roman Abramovich, who is still reeling from the £50million he wasted on misfiring frontman Fernando Torres.
Including Courtois in the deal could knock up to £15million off of Atletico Madrid's asking price for Falcao, but the goalkeeper is also seen as a big part of Chelsea's future, making a permanent move to Spain unlikely.
