Liverpool are being linked with a big-money summer move for Turkish international playmaker Arda Turan.

Spanish paper AS claims that Brendan Rodgers will offer £19million for the 26-year-old at the end of the season, having also been linked with a move in the January transfer window.

Arsenal and Bayern Munich were also keen last month, according to Metro, but it’s the Reds who are reportedly set to make the first move, with Turan’s agent also confirming that his client is set to leave the Vicente Calderon stadium.

“Arda has played at Atletico Madrid for two seasons now. I have wanted to see him play for another team in another league and Arda wants the same,” said Admet Bulut, according to the English paper.

“I can’t say the league or you’ll know exactly who I’m talking about but let’s just put it like this, there are only five to six clubs which could afford Arda right now and he’s going to join one of these five clubs.”

Bulut’s revelation is something of a surprise, given Turan’s influential role this season for Los Rojiblancos. The former Galatsaray star has been a regular during the side’s rise to second in La Liga, with manager Diego Simeone putting plenty of faith in the player.

However, the comments appear to give Liverpool a realistic chance of bringing the player to Anfield – if they are willing to splash the cash.

Philippe Coutinho and Daniel Sturridge both moved to Merseyside for substantial fees last month, but Turan would be a further financial step if the Spanish paper reports over a £19million fee are true.

He would certainly add quality to the Liverpool ranks if Rodgers could lure him to the club though, and strengthen the attacking options at the manager's disposal alongside Luis Suarez and the aforementioned duo.
