Sensational Neymar should consider Premier League move
Recent reports show that Santos star Neymar could be on his way to La Liga giants Barcelona, but it this the right move for him?
Neymar dos Santos junior is right now one of the hottest commodities in world football. His performances in the Liga do Brazil have attracted interest from the likes of Real Madrid, Barcelona, Manchester City, and Chelsea among many others.
Recent reports suggest that Neymar could be on his way to Spain in the near future, with a possible move to Barcelona on the cards.
But with big-spending Manchester City coming to the table with their own offer for the Brazilian, could a move to the Premier League be in the cards for Neymar?
Barcelona are seemingly desperate to acquire the 21-year-old, doing all that they possibly can to persuade Neymar to join forces with the likes of Lionel Messi, Xavi, and Andrés Iniesta.
Along with that, Neymar’s Brazilian teammate and Barcelona defender Dani Alves has been doing a little persuasive work himself to try and get Neymar to join him at the Camp Nou.
“I’ve been at it for ages,” Alves told FIFA.com. “When the rumours of him making a move to Europe started I told him he should come to Barcelona. It’s more than just a club.”
Manchester City, however, are keen to not let this become a one horse race for Neymar, and are planning their own £55 million swoop for the Brazilian in the summer.
And with the Citizens having the financial upper hand on the Catalan giants, there is a definite possibility that Neymar could be making a switch to the Etihad.
According to Goal.com, City executives have already made multiple trips to Brazil to discuss the possibility of the big-money switch, with their Director of Football Txiki Begiristain personally flying over to hold talks with Santos. This could spell trouble for Barcelona who would have hoped to sign Neymar to their ranks this summer.
Neymar has pledged his allegiance to Santos to stay with the club at least until after the 2014 World Cup. But that won’t stop every team in Europe from throwing down their bids for the super star during this summer’s transfer window.
Knowing that the 21-year-old will have some big decisions to make in the coming years, fellow Brazilians such as Dani Alves, Ronaldo, and Pelé, have all thrown down their advice for youngster. The advice from them is to snub the Premier League and make the move to Spain.
Whether Neymar will follow the advice given to him is unknown at the moment, but what we do know is that no matter where he may end up, Neymar will become a legend in the making.
