Arsenal captain Thomas Vermaelen has been shocked by calls for Arsene Wenger's head, and insists he remains the right man to take the club forward.

Vermaelen called on his Gunners team-mates to get behind their under-fire manager for the remainder of what looks like being an eighth straight season without silverware.
