Odemwingie still has a future at West Bromwich Albion
West Bromwich Albion news: Steve Clarke gives hope to Peter Odemwingie
Steve Clarke has insisted that Peter Odemwingie will play for West Bromwich Albion again this season.
The 31-year-old front man attempted to force a move away from the club as he travelled to QPR without permission on transfer deadline day.
The Nigerian striker has not played for The Baggies since, however he is now pushing for a place back in the squad.
Odemwingie will be hoping to get a call up from Clarke this weekend, as his side play host to Sunderland.
Clarke may be tempted to recall the controversial striker as he has an excellent record against The Black Cats with four goals in five games.
Clarke told the club's official website: "Every player will be under consideration for selection in the final 18 and that will depend on how training goes, how I see the game and how I feel the best way to approach the game is.
"Peter is available for selection.
"We've had a couple of little chats but nothing in-depth and he knows the situation.
"He knows he needs to work hard and he has to be ready for his opportunity when it comes and, for sure, it will come because we only carry a small squad.
"He has to be ready to go."
