In a season where Real Madrid sit 15 points back of Barcelona in La Liga and are at risk of finishing the season without any major trophies, rumours of Jose Mourinho leaving Los Blancos have become increasingly persistent in Spain.

In a poll conducted my Madrid based news source AS, 73 percent of the team’s supporters want current Swansea coach Michael Laudrup to take control at the end of the season.

Following Swansea's Wembley success in the final of the Capital One Cup on Sunday, however, Laudrup insists he wants to stay in south Wales.

He told reporters: "I can only sustain what I’ve said before – my intention is to stay here, I have one more year (on my) contract. And that’s it.

The former Danish international played for both Barcelona and Real Madrid during his playing career, spending two years with Los Blancos.

Previous coaching spells at Getafe and Mallorca have provided the Dane with plenty of experience in the Spanish league, leading to the signings of Michu, Pablo Hernandez, Chico Flores, and Roland Lamah to the Welsh club. The influx of former La Liga players, especially club top scorer Michu, have helped Swansea to their first ever major cup final.

Swansea are known for their attractive brand of football, a major reason for Madridistas’ interest in their former player.

Other coaches included in the poll were Rafael Benitez (18 percent) and Carlo Ancelotti (nine percent.)
