Manchester City manager Roberto Mancini has refused to give up the chase on Manchester United at the top of the Premier League table following the Citizens' commanding 2-0 victory over Chelsea on Sunday.

Second half goals from Yaya Toure and Carlos Tevez were enough to help Mancini's men lay claim to all three points and reduce United's lead at the top of the table to 12 points.

The City shot-stopper Joe Hart also played an important hand in his side's win, as at 0-0 he kept out a Frank Lampard penalty in the early stages of the second half.

City are now seven points clear of Chelsea in second spot and with just 11 more games left in the season, they look highly unlikely of overturning United's massive advantage.

Mancini though is adamant that his side are still not out of the title race and vowed to put up a fight right up to the last game of the campaign.

City managed to overcome an eight-point gap last term with just six games left, before pipping United on goal difference to claim their first Premier League trophy.

Mancini told Sky Sports: "We can't think it's finished with 11 games to go.

"It's not my mentality or the mentality of the players."

City's goalkeeper Hart has come in for criticism in recent weeks, after mistakes in their defeat to Southampton.

And Mancini commended the effort of the English international during the match, hailing him as one of the best goalkeepers in Europe.

"I think Joe is the best in England and one of the best in Europe and I am pleased for him because he saved a penalty.

"But he could do better before with the long ball; he could be perfect if he wants to."
