Chelsea's star-man, Juan Mata, has expressed his fear of missing out on the top four and Champions League qualification.
After a superb start to the campaign, it looked likely that The Blues would challenge for the title, however after the sacking of Roberto Di Matteo, and replacing him with Rafael Benitez, Chelsea's form has dipped drastically.
When Di Matteo was sacked, Chelsea were just sitting four points off leaders Manchester United, but now, with 11 games remaining they trail The Red Devils by 19 points.
After spending most of the season looking above them, they are now having to watch their backs as Tottenham have recently overtaken them in third place and Arsenal now just sit two points off their London rivals.
Mata is worried that Chelsea may finish outside of the top four and warns that his side must improve for the rest of the season.
As reported by The Sun, Mata said: "If that is a fact, we have to improve in these games.
"The most important games are when you play against Man United, Man City, Arsenal, Tottenham and Liverpool — the best teams in the Premier League and you have to show that you are in this level.
"The job that we did against City wasn’t enough. We didn’t score, we didn’t get the three points, always when you play against teams like Man City you have to perform at your best."
Next up, Chelsea play host to West Brom and gaining all three points will be crucial for Benitez's side.
