Fabio has revealed that he got very excited by the goal scored by his twin brother Rafael against his current club last weekend.

The Brazilian is on loan at QPR from Manchester United and admitted he wanted to celebrate the goal.

In an interview with Globoesporte, Fabio said: "I was pleased to see my brother score a goal like that.

"Naturally I wanted to celebrate. But I was seated next to the QPR president!"

Yet the defender expressed he would have been more delighted if the goal was against any other team in the world.

The 22-year-old believes both him and his brother are maturing as players and have benefited from being apart.

"I told him afterwards: 'You never score goals like that! You had to do it against my team!' But I was happy for him.

"I've grown a lot this season. We've both matured. He's flying [for Manchester United] and I'm playing more. The change has been good for us."

Rafael admitted that he had to put the fact he was playing his brother's side out of his mind.

He said: "At the time of the game, [you] forget it all, forget that on the opposite team is your sibling.

"We are professional and have to play to win.

"Because Manchester is fighting to be champions and we want to win every game.

"I'm happy that we won today and got a little closer to the title."

Rafael has arguably had his best season at United and will hope to keep up his form as his side go in search of the treble.
