Chelsea are considering current Bayern Munich boss Jupp Heynckes as a summer replacement for Rafael Benitez, according to sports magazine Kicker.
The Daily Express has reported that the German publication believes the Blues are targeting the veteran coach, who will leave the Allianz Arena at the end of the season when the Bayern Munich hotseat is filled by former Barcelona manager Pep Guardiola.
Chelsea owner Roman Abramovich is currently drawing up a shortlist of potential replacements for interim coach Benitez, who will not be offered a contract extension at the end of the season after failing to improve results at Stamford Bridge.
Heynckes will be highly sought after following his successful third spell at Bayern Munich. He guided the German giants to the Champions League final last term, only to lose out to Chelsea on penalties, and his side are 18 points clear of second-place reigning champions Borussia Dortmund in this season's Bundesliga.
Bayern Munich are also on course to reach this year's Champions League quarter-finals after defeating Arsenal 3-1 at the Emirates earlier this month in the first leg of their round of 16 tie.
