Highly-rated St-Etienne striker and Chelsea transfer target Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang has admitted speculation linking with a move to the Premier League has affected him.
The 23-year-old has been in excellent form for the French club, scoring 14 goals in 25 appearances so far this season.
And his fine performances have led to speculation linking the former-AC Milan striker with a move to England.
Chelsea and Newcastle have been credited with an interest in the striker, according to a Daily Express report - and the Blues were believed to be considering Aubameyang as a possible replacement for Fernando Torres this summer.
And the St Etienne forward admitted the rumours got to him over the January transfer window.
Speaking to beIN Sport, Aubameyang said: "It's something that plays on your mind without you even realising.
"But the holidays are over now; they did me good, and now the transfer window is shut and we are getting results again."
St Etienne are enjoying a superb season this term, and currently sit fifth in Ligue 1. And a big reason behind their good form has been the goals provided by Aubameyang.
The young forward is the second top scorer in the French top flight with 14 goals - only Paris St Germain forward Zlatan Ibrahimovic has more - and Aubameyang has contributed 35 per cent of his side's goals this campaign.
Chelsea, in contrast, have struggled to find the net, with £50m man Torres blowing hot and cold. Two from three of club's current leading scorers, Frank Lampard and Juan Mata, are both midfielders.
