Bayern Munich are in top form ahead of their DFB Pokal quarter-final clash with Borussia Dortmund tonight, in a repeat of last season's final.
After dispatching Arsenal last week with a thumping 3-1 win, after goals by Toni Kroos, Thomas Mullerr and Mario Mandzukic, Bayern put six past Werder Bremen this past Saturday in a comfortable 6-1 victory.
Munich are enjoying a supreme run of form of late thanks to their attacking flair with the likes of Mandzukic and Gomez.
Bayern are also a superb defensive unit, that consists of Dante, David Alaba, Daniel van Buyten and Philipp Lahm.
Although fans were originally concerned about impressive centre back Holger Badstuber’s torn knee ligament impeding their stonewall defence, the club has continued its superb defensive record having only conceded 8 goals in this Bundesliga season so far.
Manuel Neuer, recognised by many as the best goal keeper in the world has been at the heart of their success.
In contrast Dortmund have, for their own standards, been in relatively poor form conceding seven goals in their last four Bundesliga outings, of which one was a 4-1 defeat to Hamburg. However, with young talents Marco Reus and Mario Gotze Dortmund pose a threat for any team.
Munich will be only to aware of this after their 5-2 loss in the final last season and have been unable to beat Dortmund in their last six attempts.
And Dortmund manager Jurgen Klopp believes his side have every chance of stopping Bayern again this season.
He said: "We want to reach the next round. We have noticed how the respect Bayern show us is greater.
"We are one of the few clubs on the planet who can beat Bayern.
"If you only give 98 per cent, then you can't beat them, but with 100 per cent, anything is possible."
