Arsene Wenger says Arsenal harbour no fear of in-form Tottenham star ahead of Sunday's potentially pivotal north London derby at White Hart Lane.

Arsenal face their fourth-placed neighbours this weekend with Spurs enjoying a cushion of four points and with Bale in a breathtaking patch of goalscoring form, having found the net eight times in his last six games.

The 23-year-old has scored 19 goals in all competitions for Spurs this season - already seven greater than his previous highest season tally - and is favourite with the bookmakers to claim the Premier League's player of the season crown.

Bale was the decisive factor once again on Monday night as his brace against West Ham ensured Spurs retained a sizeable points margin over Arsenal going into the derby, but Wenger claims Arsenal are not frightened by the Welshman.

"There is no player that you are scared to meet," Wenger told a press conference on Friday.

Bale, meanwhile, claims Spurs will be motivated by revenge when they host Arsenal, having suffered a morale sapping defeat against the Gunners at the Emirates Stadium in November.

Spurs lead through an Emmanuel Adebayor goal, before the Togolese was sent off and Arsenal romped to a 5-2 victory - the second time in succession they had recorded that scoreline against their rivals at home.
