Arsenal scouts are tracking Tottenham Hotspur target Daryl Janmaat ahead of a possible summer move, according to reports.
Metro claims Gunners chief Arsene Wenger has sent spies to watch the Feyenoord full-back, who could replace Bacary Sagna at the Emirates Stadium at the end of the season.
French international Sagna is out of contract in the summer of 2014, and Arsenal are eager to tie the 30-year-old down to a new deal in north London.
However, talks are yet to yield a positive result, and the Gunners are wary of losing the former Auxerre starlet for nothing.
With an unofficial partnership in place with Feyenoord, according to the report, Arsenal are ahead of other interested parties in the race to land the player, with Tottenham Hotspur and Sporting Lisbon also said to be keen.
Were Spurs boss Andre Villas-Boas able to lure the former Herenveen star to White Hart Lane, he'd compete for first team chances alongside England international Kyle Walker.
It's Arsenal who appear to hold the cards in the race for Janmaat though, with the defender scoring two goals in 23 Eredivisie matches this season. He has also fought his way into the Dutch national team with a string of impressive performances at De Kuip.
