With the season nearing its climax, and Chelsea still fighting for the coveted top four finish that will ensure that the Stamford Bridge outfit will play host to Champions League football once again, fans appear to be drawing their attention towards the possible summer arrivals.
After the departure of Daniel Sturridge and Fernando Torres still struggling with form, Chelsea don't have an option but to add to their strike force during the summer months.
One such arrival is long awaited at Stamford Bridge and they could do much worse than the prolific Columbian striker Radamel Falcao.
The exceptionally talented forward, who embarrassed Chelsea’s defence in the Super Cup, has become the prize of Europe, and seen by many as the ultimate number nine.
Although, if Falcao decides to move elsewhere, this leaves Chelsea with numerous options to consider this summer, as the transfer window looms closer and closer.
Bayern Munich’s Mario Gomez is certainly a player that could fit in at the Blues. The striker has enjoyed seasons of success in front of goal at Bayern, but has lately seen more of the bench than he has of the six-yard line.
Gomez would provide stability and much-needed goals in front of the trio of creative midfielders that have to Chelsea offer.
Finally, Chelsea may look to Real Madrid striker Gonzalo Higuain as an answer to the crisis at Stamford Bridge.
The Argentinian’s phenomenal goal-scoring record and prowess could be crucial as the Blues look to build a side that can once again successfully mount a challenge for the Premier League and the UEFA Champions League.
