Cristiano Ronaldo would 'love' to score against Manchester United

.

Real Madrid star Cristiano Ronaldo admits he would 'love' to score for Los Blancos when he makes his long-awaited return to Old Trafford for the Champions League last 16 second leg against Manchester United.

Ronaldo has not been back to the Theatre of Dreams since his record-breaking £80 million move from Manchester United to Real Madrid in summer transfer window of 2009, and will arrive at his former club with the tie delicately poised.

The 28-year-old found the net in the reverse fixture at the Santiago Bernabeu to cancel out Danny Welbeck's opener for Manchester United on the night, although the England striker's goal could prove decisive come the end of the second encounter.

Ronaldo was muted in celebration after his strike against Manchester United last time out, and says he may not be able to be as restrained if he scores a pivotal goal in front the Old Trafford crowd that used to adore him.

"It would be a beautiful sensation," Ronaldo said, as reported by Goal.com. "If I score against them, it would be spectacular.

"I can't say how I'd celebrate - it would be something spontaneous - but I'd love to be in that situation."

Although Ronaldo is hoping to wreck Manchester United's hopes of Champions League success this season, the Portugal captain expects he will be afforded a welcoming ovation from the supporters of the Premier League leaders.

"I'm sure they will receive me well," he added.

"After the years I spent there and the friendships I have, I'm sure it's one of the places where they'll applaud me most. It was a beautiful time."
