Manchester United don’t need Cristiano Ronaldo, and there are three reasons why 28-year-old shouldn’t come back to Old Trafford.

With a comfortable 12 point gap at the tope of the Premier League over cross town rivals Manchester City and an ever closer 20th title league title, one must ask why United would splash out big money and re-sign Ronaldo.

United, undoubtedly the most consistent English team of recent times have had a stranglehold over the Premier League under the reign on Sir Alex Ferguson and don’t look like wavering.

Although somewhat uncharacteristic performances in European competitions and Cup fixtures have left the Red Devils red faced, United are still the main powerhouse behind English football and don’t need the egocentric persona of Ronaldo.

Having one of the most dangerous centre forwards amongst the starting eleven, United outwardly have no need for their former player. Acquiring much criticism after his departure from London to United, Robin van Persie, the former Arsenal captain, has seemingly flourished under the red of Manchester. Forming a formidable partnership with club legend Wayne Rooney, many defenders lie quaking in their boots. These two superstars have helped United maintain their impeccable goal record this campaign.

High quality wingers are certainly hard to come by in top flight football, however with the large squad of capable players at Sir Alex Ferguson’s disposal, one must ask- why is there need for another? With the likes of Luis Nani, Ashley Young, Antonio Valencia and newly signed English talent Wilfried Zaha soon to be amongst the ranks, the question rises who would make way for the La Liga hit-man.

One must ask why United would want their former Portuguese man back?
