Cristiano Ronaldo is arguably the biggest star on the football stage. He has had a successful career with Real Madrid but it’s rumoured he could make a U-turn back to Old Trafford. He could even join big spenders PSG in the summer, so Madrid need to keep an eye out on potential players to replace the Portuguese jewel.
Whilst Real Madrid will probably do everything they can to keep the player, they could end up losing him to another world-class club. If this is the case then it is going to be a challenge to find any player that can replace him. With a strong striking force already at the, you would think Madrid are likely to spend big on a winger.
So who would be good enough to fit into the squad and prove to the fans that they haven’t lost out with the departure of their star? One of the names on fans lips is Neymar. He has proven to the World that he’s simply one in a million and has the same impact in games similar to the likes of Ronaldo. Neymar is on the prowl for a potential big hit move away from the Brazilian league so if Madrid were to sell Ronaldo, this move could be one of their best options.
Another option available for the Spanish side is Gareth Bale. This Welshman’s stock has risen further this season and he has attracted the eyes of the World. There’s no doubt that he is growing into a wonder and it’s not difficult to picture him in a Madrid shirt. If anything will deny Bale being a replacement, it would be his lack of experience and impact in European competitions compared to Ronaldo. Nevertheless this move would surely be welcomed by the fans, but if this move was to be completed in the summer, you have got to hope that Bale doesn’t sink like his old Spurs team mate Luka Modric. Tottenham developed Modric into a strong player but his move to Real Madrid has seen him dip in terms of his performance and his impact in games in Spain.
Then there is Arjen Robben. Even though Real would have the funds to make such big signings, you doubt they would leave clubs they have shown loyalty to for so long.
Whether Cristiano Ronaldo departs or stays with Real Madrid we are sure to be entertained and amazed by his play. If he re-joins Manchester United then this would be a great boost for the English league even though we could see Bale going the other way. Either way it’s sure to be an eventful transfer market. Madrid will have to look deeply into the world of wingers, to ensure they find the right contender for a Ronaldo replacement
