Arsenal target Adil Rami is seemingly uninterested in a move to north London or indeed any other club as he has suggested that he will sign a new deal with current club Valencia.
The French centre-half has been heavily linked with a move away from the Primera Liga giants with Arsenal topping the list of potential buyers with wealthy free-spending Russian outfit Anzhi Makachkala also said to be monitoring the situation.
However, it has now emerged that the giant 6”3 French international is now ready to commit to the Spanish club.
He told French TV station Canal +: "There’s an offer from Valencia to extend my contract, and I feel good here.
"The most important thing for me is to be a first-team regular, which is not the case for all my rivals for a place in the French national team."
It comes as a blow to manager Arsene Wenger who has seen repeated defensive frailties this season put a top-four finish in the Premier League and therefore a place in next year’s Champions League in serious jeopardy.
With Laurent Koscielny struggling to maintain his fitness with a string of different injuries, Per Mertesacker and Thomas Vermaelen have been the main central-defensive partnership this season but have been less than convincing to say the least - something Wenger is eager to sort out immediately by pursuing summer moves for suitable targets already.
