Manchester City have reportedly pinpointed Crystal Palace starlet Jonny Williams as a potential buy as City boss Roberto Mancini looks to bolster his squad with young British talent.

Following the signings of Jack Rodwell and Scott Sinclair last season, Mancini has shortlisted Arsenal's Carl Jenkinson, Derby's Will Hughes and now, according to the Daily Star, Palace's Williams.

The 19-year-old midfielder is the latest star out of the Crystal Palace academy, and could follow fellow Eagles graduate Wilfried Zaha, who completed a £15million move to Manchester United in January, out of the club. However, a City bid is believed to be some way off.

Mancini's assistant David Platt watched Williams during Palace's 1-0 defeat to Sheffield Wednesday, and City will follow his progress to see if a future move is viable.

The Welsh under-21 international has made 33 league appearances for Crystal Palace since breaking into the first-team last year, and his current contact runs until 2017.
