After Chelsea’s 2-0 win over Middlesborough thanks to goals from Ramires and Victor Moses, Chelsea progressed through to the next round in the FA Cup.

Their opponents in the next round are Manchester United, and the match will be played at Old Trafford. However, after dropping out of the Champions League, The Blues defeated Sparta Prague, therefore they play Steaua Bucuresti tonight.

Which competition holds more importance for Chelsea? The Europa League or the FA Cup tie?

Apart from dropping out of the Champions League the Blues have created quite an impressive record of matches in Europe. After winning the Champions League in 2012, Chelsea looked like a potential threat to retain the trophy this season, but they were knocked out in the group stages.

An away match is usually hard to win, but with the match being played at Old Trafford, that makes the journey even harder. Chelsea will have to be at their best if they’re to come out on top against United.

When it comes to Steaua Bucuresti, Chelsea have only taken a squad of 19 players to Romania, leaving behind players such as: Oriol Romeu, Victor Moses, Nathan Ake, Demba Ba and also Ramires. Is this a smart move by  Rafael Benitez?

It will remain to be seen if Benitez decides to rest some of his key players with a trip to Manchester in mind, or if he sees the Europa League as a chance to gain silverware for his side.

What do you think? Do you believe that the FA Cup match is more important than the Europa League Match? Leave a comment.
