Video: Former Chelsea ace enjoys a pint - on subs bench

Some of us might enjoy a quick pint of beer to settle the nerves before a first date, or perhaps before giving a big presentation at work.

But maybe someone should have advised former Chelsea player Enrique de Lucas that knocking back a swift one before emerging from the bench during Celta Vigo’s 4-1 defeat at the hands of Sevilla on Monday may not be the greatest idea in the world.

The 35-year-old makes a pretty poor effort to shield his choice of refreshment from prying eyes as he sups steadily at his frothy treat. Perhaps decanting it into a sports bottle may have been a better idea if he wanted to get away with it.

Unsurprisingly, De Lucas, who spent a year at Stamford Bridge before being shipped out in 2002, failed to make much of an impression during his 15 minute cameo as Celta continued their shocking run of just one win in their last nine games.

Unconfirmed reports suggested afterwards that while his performance on the pitch wasn’t up to much, he was in an excellent mood afterwards, declaring everyone was his best friend before going in search of a kebab. Check out the video above.
