Barcelona superstar Lionel Messi has revealed that the favourite goals he has ever scored in his career have been in the Champions League finals.
When asked on a question and answer session on Twitter, the Barcelona and Argentine superstar responded with: “All of them are important for the team, but the ones scored in the Champions League Finals always feel a bit special.”
On both occasions that the little magician has played in the Champions League Final, he has scored vital goals in helping his side winning the biggest club competition in the world.
A sublime header in the 2008/09 final, in which Barca triumphed 2-0, helped see off the challenge of Manchester United while he netted an important second as the European giants did battle again in the 2010/11 final, as Barca again came out on top in with a 3-1 win.
Messi, who scored his first Barcelona goal in 2006 when he was beautifully assisted by former Barca no.10 and hero Ronaldinho, also revealed that he felt ‘immense joy’ scoring his first professional goal for the club, adding: “It meant a lot for me and my family after all the work and sacrifices!”
In the question and answer session, which is the first time Messi has appeared on Twitter, fans who followed the forward on the Team Messi account got the chance to win a signed pair of Messi’s boots.
