Real Madrid manager Jose Mourinho would snub a mega-money move to PSG in favour of a return to Chelsea.
A report from the Express claims the Portuguese that left Stamford Bridge under a cloud in 2007 “dreams” of going back to manage the Blues for a second time.
Mourinho’s humble reaction to Real Madrid’s victory over Manchester United on the Champions League on Wednesday has been taken in some corners as an indicator that he wants to succeed Sir Alex Ferguson in the Old Trafford hot seat.
However, this report suggests Mourinho is eyeing up a reunion with Roman Abramovich at Chelsea and they reference French media to report that discussions have already taken place between his agent and the Blues owner.
They also claim the agent, Jorge Mendes, had previously held discussions with PSG over a prospective move but that the interest has waned in recent weeks.
This could be down to their claim that Chelsea’s oligarch and Mendes have been speaking on the phone regularly recently over the prospect of Mourinho’s return.
Mourinho won two Premier League titles when he was in charge at Chelsea, as well as an FA Cup and League Cup triumph.
One trophy that evaded him while at Stamford Bridge was the UEFA Champions League and his return to west London could be sparked by a sense of unfinished business.
