Manchester United could land Zlatan Ibrahimovic

Published 22 Comments

Manchester United could be set to make a sensational swoop for PSG star Zlatan Ibrahimovic, though would face a battle with Juventus for his signature.

According to The Express, the Sweden international has grown disillusioned with life in France and is prepared to depart this summer.

It cites reports in Italy suggesting representatives from Sir Alex Ferguson’s side have already made contact with Ibrahimovic’s agents regarding a switch to Old Trafford.

However, Manchester United will face a fight from his former club in Turin and the reports states a move back to Juventus is probably more likely.

Ferguson already has an abundance of talent at his disposal in attack with the likes of Robin van Persie and Wayne Rooney providing competition for places.

Rooney’s future at Old Trafford has been called into doubt since he was left on the bench for Manchester United’s Champions League last 16 second leg against Real Madrid on Tuesday.

PSG have been mooted as a possible destination for Rooney were he to depart the Red Devils and could replace Ibrahimovic if he makes a switch to either Manchester United or Juventus.

Ibrahimovic only moved to France last summer but has got a reputation as something of a journeyman, having played for seven different clubs before his 30th birthday.
