Can Arsenal upset the odds and beat Bayern Munich?
Champions League: Arsenal trail Bayern Munich 3-1 after first leg - can they overturn a two-goal deficit?
Arsenal's hopes of reaching the quarter-finals of the Champions League suffered a huge blow as they were defeated 1-3 at the Emirates by the in-form Bayern Munich.
Next week they have to travel to Bayern Munich requiring almost a miracle after Bayern took control of the tie, with goals from Toni Kroos, Thomas Muller and Mario Mandzukic in the first leg.
Can Arsenal do it?
Arsenal performances of late have not been the same controlled Arsenal that we have become used to. Especially after their fifth round FA Cup loss at home to Championship outfit Blackburn Rovers.
Arsenal have to believe they can overturn the scoreline at Bayern, or it's not worth them turning up. With quality players like Santi Cazorla, Lukas Podolski, Theo Walcott and Olivier Giroud they have the quality to score goals against Bayern. However, will it be enough?
Bayern Munich are well known for their resolute defence. Will those Arsenal players be able to get in behind Bayern? Or will their defence be yet again unpicked, leaving Arsenal to suffer another year without a trophy.
If, as well as not progressing in this competition, they cannot achieve 4th place in the Premier League table, then the 2012/2013 season will be considered a disaster for Arsenal.
