Brazilian legend Roberto Carlos believes Barcelona have a 90% chance of signing Neymar ahead of their rivals.
Real Madrid have also been linked with a move for the Santos starlet, according to Goal.com, with the player continuing to earn rave reviews for his performances in his homeland.
However, Carlos believes the 21-year-old’s days in Brazil are numbered, and having spoken with Neymar personally, thinks the Blaugrana are in pole position to land his compatriot.
"I have spoken with him. He should have left Brazil already in my opinion. I believe that Barcelona has a 90 percent chance of signing him," the former full-back told Al Jazeera.
Carlos also dismissed suggestions that Neymar would be unable to play alongside Lionel Messi, insisting the two could form a formidable partnership at the Nou Camp.
"He is able to adapt to any situation," added the Anzhi Makhachkala team director.
Neymar is contracted to Santos until the summer of 2014, and has previously been tipped to remain at the Estádio Urbano Caldeira until after the ‘home’ World Cup in the same year.
However, speculation remains rife over the 28-cap international’s future, and an enticing offer could see the player join Tito Vilanova in Catalonia ahead of the initially projected date.
