Manchester United defender Rio Ferdinand will escape punishment from the Football Association for an off-the-ball incident with Fernando Torres in Sunday's entertaining 2-2 FA Cup draw against Chelsea.
Ferdinand appeared to trip and shove the Spanish striker towards the end of the game, but the incident was missed by referee Howard Webb and his assistants.
If Ferdinand was found to be guilty he would have incurred at least a three-match ban meaning he would have almost certainly missed the replay of the quarter-final and the eagerly anticipated Manchester derby in early April.
However, the FA have opted not to take any action against the United defender who could also be in line for an England recall after impressive recent displays.
