Liverpool manager, Brendan Rodgers, has revealed that he is interested in bringing in three or four 'quality' signings in the summer to make sure they can challenge for Champions League next season.
The club is visibly improving and going forward, after a recent decline, and January signings, Philippe Coutinho and Daniel Sturridge have added much-needed depth at Anfield and have proven to be great signings.
After the successful January signings, Rodgers is now wanting to sign three of four more players who are at the same level as previously mentioned signings.
With Jamie Carragher retiring at the end of the season, a centre back is needed for Liverpool and it is reported that Swansea's Ashley Williams is at the top of the wish-list. Rodgers was with Williams during his time at Swansea and he now wants to bring him to Anfield.
If the Williams transfer cannot be done, then Feyenoord's defender Stefan De Vrij is also a potential target.
It is also reported that Rodgers want to improve his attacking force as well with creative players such as Xabi Alonso and Tom Ince being linked with the club.
Rodgers told reporters: "There is no doubt there is a natural rebuilding that will come with the likes of Jamie Carragher going.
"I am happy with the squad if I can then put another three or four quality players to it. It is quality we are after, not quantity.
"If we bring in another three or four quality players to add to what we have got, then we have got a strong squad.
"Naturally there might be people who aren't playing who might want to think about going elsewhere, but at the moment it's a strong squad."
