Ajaccio goalkeeper Guillermo Ochoa has handed Liverpool a significant transfer boost by revealing his ambition to one day test himself in another country, reports talkSPORT.

The 27-year-old Ligue 1 star has been heavily linked with a move to Anfield as a potential replacement for Pepe Reina, who continues to be mentioned for a move to Barcelona.

Ochoa claimed last month that Liverpool had made an enquiry about his availability during the January transfer window, as Brendan Rodgers begun his search for a long-term successor to his Spanish stopper.

And, it's thought the Mexican international has been identified as the man to fill Reina's gloves, if he returns to the Camp Nou in the summer.

"I do not regret being here, I have adapted to the way of life in France," Ochoa told Mercato365. "My future? I think about finishing the season in the best possible way, then I will compare options.

"However, I cannot deny that I would love to play in other leagues. I want to develop and join a major project."

With that in mind, a summer switch to the Premier League will probably be an attractive proposition for a goalkeeper that has outgrown an Ajaccio side that is struggling in the lower reaches of France's top-flight.
