Luis Suarez is as important to Liverpool as Lionel Messi is to Barcelona, according to his Anfield teammate Jose Enrique.
The Uruguayan has been outstanding this season scoring 29 goals in all competitions and the Spanish full-back says he is the man all of Brendan Rodgers’ team look for.
Liverpool have suffered some ups and downs this season in terms of results and form but they would be in a bit of trouble without Suarez.
Enrique created the Anfield star’s last goal in the Premier League to start the scoring in the 3-2 win over Tottenham on Sunday night.
The former Newcastle United man explained that his first glance when looking up for a pass was to Suarez because of the blistering form he has shown this season.
“It's really easy to understand Luis," he told the official Liverpool website.
"When I have the ball he's the first person I look for on the pitch. He is our best player and he can do something from nothing.
"It's like at Barcelona, the first player they look for when the game is in a bad situation is Messi because they know he can do something.
"Luis is the same, I look for him because I know he can do something different.”
Liverpool are on a good run at the moment having won their last four games and pulled themselves to within two points of fifth-placed Arsenal.
The man he compared Suarez to has also been in decent form this season.
Lionel Messi scored twice to make it 52 and 53 for the season as Barcelona thrashed AC Milan 4-0 on Tuesday night, overturning a first leg 2-0 deficit, in their Champions League last 16 second leg at Camp Nou.
