Manchester United are in talks with West Ham United over the sale of goalkeeper Anders Lindegaard, though they will face competition from around Europe.
Danish website Sporten.dk are reporting that the Hammers have begun discussions with Old Trafford officials over the possible transfer.
Sir Alex Ferguson had been swapping between Lindegaard and David de Gea earlier in the season but the Spaniard’s recent form has seen him cement his place as number one.
The 28-year-old has previously stated he is not interested in sitting on the bench at Manchester United or “pick my nose” as he put it himself.
The report claims Lindegaard is seen as a long-term replacement for Jussi Jääskeläinen at West Ham, as the former Finland international will celebrate his 38th birthday next month.
Many will see the transfer as a failure on Lindegaard’s part due to him being unable to take hold of the number one’s jersey Manchester United when given more than one chance.
Lindegaard is obviously very highly rated as the report claims West Ham are not alone as suitors, with fellow Premier League club Fulham credited with an interest and a number of other European clubs.
