Sevilla forward Alvaro Negredo is still open to a Premier League move with north London rivals Tottenham and Arsenal believed to interested, although he insists he is happy in Spain.

27-year-old Negredo was linked with a move to White Hart Lane in January but the move failed to happen, despite Spurs’ desperate need for a striker.

And the north Londoners are still desperately keen to add a proven goalscorer to their books to take the pressure off the goalscoring exploits of Gareth Bale, who has been tipped for a move away from Tottenham.

However, Negredo is keeping his and indeed reporters’ feet firmly on the ground by saying at a press conference:  "I’m happy here.

"If the president says that he will not sell, there are other players that can go."

Negredo fits the bill of a proven hit man, having scored goals for fun in the Spanish leagues throughout his career.

Any bid Spurs may make in the summer could well be challenged by arch rivals Arsenal who are reportedly also keen to bolster their attacking options.
