Stevan Jovetic has emerged as Arsenal's prime summer transfer target, reports The Daily Mail.
The 23-year-old Fiorentina striker has netted 12 goals in 23 league appearances this season, and has attracted interest from several of Europe's biggest clubs.
His form has seen his side climb up to fourth place in Serie A, and his performances have been scintillating at times to say the least.
He isn't the most prolific of strikers but his ability to create chances and link-up with fellow players will certainly suit Arsenal's style of play.
Scouts have been sent to Florence to see the striker in action over the past few weeks, with reports suggesting Arsene Wenger is set to firm up his interest in the Manchester City target.
The Gunners' biggest problem comes from competition possessed by other clubs. The likes of Real Madrid, Juventus and Liverpool have been linked with the Montenegro ace in recent times, whilst he is valued in the region of £20m which, in the modern day transfer market, is a very reasonable price for a player of his skill and quality.
Wenger's side must secure fourth place if their pursuit of the player is to stand any chance of being successful, as Jovetic will want to be playing Champions League football next season.
It's increasingly likely that Jovetic will leave 'Viola' in the summer, and Arsenal have seemingly jumped to the head of the queue with these latest revelations.
