From winning the Premier League title in the most dramatic of circumstances to watching rivals Manchester United disappear out of sight, Manchester City have collapsed this season.
The blues of Manchester have been completely brushed aside by their red counterparts this season with the likelihood of them retaining the title practically gone. Why has this happened? Could it have been avoided? Just where did it all go wrong?
The first problem that has to be identified are the injuries. Both captain Vincent Kompany and prolific goalscorer Sergio Aguero have missed large portions of the season through injury. These two are undoubtedly two of City's most important players, with Aguero having a knack of scoring important goals - anybody remember QPR last season? - and they have been lacking that killer instinct as shown by eight draws this season compared to the Red Devils' two.
But football is a team sport and, with Sheikh Mansour's billions, City should have a squad able to cope. Unfortunately - or fortunately, depending on who you support - a lot of City's big players have failed to turn up.
Yaya Toure may be an exception to this but he is capable of far better than what he has achieved. David Silva, in particular, has been terrible for the blues this season, notching up a mere three goals and seven assists.
One very noticeable thing about City is the lack of desire compared to last season. They seem to have no driving force spurring them on - and it has shown.
Another problem was the lack of good transfers. While the Red Devils' bought Robin van Persie, Shinji Kagawa and Alexander Buttner, the Citizens bought nobody of any real attacking nature besides Maicon and Scott Sinclair - neither of who have rarely appeared.
So, injuries, under-performing players, a lack of desire and low transfer activity seem to have cost City the Premier League title.
