Boca Juniors have been linked with a surprise move for Manchester City striker Carlos Tevez, according to the Daily Express.

The Argentine forward started his professional career with Boca Juniors before moving on to Corinthians, and his old club are reportedly looking to bring him back to South America this summer.

Tevez has endured a mixed 18 months at the Etihad Stadium. A very public falling out with Roberto Mancini at the Allianz Arena during last season's Champions League campaign saw Tevez exiled for five months.

But all seemed to be forgiven when he returned to help Manchester City win their first ever Premier League title.

Driving offences and patchy form have threatened to derail his City career though, and Mancini is believed to be planning a summer clear-out - with Tevez's place in the squad under threat.

France international Samir Nasri could be another on his way out at the end of the season.

Boca Juniors, according to reports in Spain, are weighing up a move for their former player, and the report claims Tevez could be willing to try a fresh challenge after four years at Manchester City.

The Argentine has 15 goals in all competitions this season, but City's strikers have failed to fire on all cylinders this term.

Edin Dzeko has also been linked with an Etihad Stadium exit, Mario Balotelli has already left, and Sergio Aguero has spent time on the treatment table.
