Luke Shaw, who currently plays for Southampton FC, is an up and coming left-back who is widely considered as an exciting English prospect.
At just 17-years-old he has already established himself in a Saints side that looks better and better every week.
Shaw is the latest in a long list of successful youngsters to come through the famed Southampton academy with the likes of Theo Walcott, Gareth Bale and Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain coming through in recent years.
The player was the subject of reported interest from both Arsenal and Chelsea in the recent transfer window but he reassured Southampton fans that he sees his immediate future on the south coast after agreeing, in principle, a five-year-deal with the club.
However, Chelsea fans were undoubtedly delighted when the youngster announced that he is a fan of the current champions of Europe.
The prodigy started off at Southampton as a nine-year-old and worked his way up through the levels to become an integral part of the team. Starting his career at left-back as well as showing maturity well beyond his years has inevitably led to comparisons with former youth teammate, Gareth Bale.
So watch out for the new youngster who will surely be bursting on to the global footballing scene with a bang.
