Francesco Totti gave a timely reminder of both his outrageous ability and his goal scoring prowess against Parma on Sunday, scoring his 226th Serie A goal to make him the league's second highest scorer while also pulling off an outrageous back-heel pass to put the cherry on the cake of a memorable performance.
The 36-year-old bagged his side's second goal in the 2-0 win at the Stadio Olimpico to put him behind only Silvio Piola as Serie A's leading all-time goalscorer. The former Italian international now needs 48 more to equal Piola's record.
But it wasn't just his goal, a fine free-kick that scurried under the jumping wall and beyond the grasp of Antonio Mirante, that caught the eye on Sunday.
The veteran Italian, who made his debut for Roma aged 16, pulled off a spectacular spinning back-heel through ball to send Marquinho through down the wing, but from his pull-back Simone Perrotta could only butcher the chance to score what would have been one of the goals of the year.
