Harry Redknapp says Queens Park Rangers will reignite their interest in Toulouse midfielder Etienne Capoue, a reported transfer target for Arsenal and Tottenham, provided the west London club can ensure their Premier League survival.
QPR attempted to sign the France international during the January transfer window, and Redknapp hopes to bring Capoue to Loftus Road in the summer, but realises this can only be done if the club remain in the top-flight.
Arsenal and Tottenham were also linked with moves of their own for Capoue earlier this year, as Arsene Wenger and Andre Villas-Boas strived to bring reinforcements to the Emirates Stadium and White Hart Lane respectively.
QPR, however, made a formal approach for the 24-year-old, and Redknapp would be willing to return for the Frenchman again if he is able to secure the club's status come May.
"I tried to sign Capoue in January," Redknapp said, as reported by Metro.
"I was looking for a player to control the game. It’s hard at the last minute to attract players.
"If we maintain our Premier League status then he would be a good option."
QPR remain in a perilous league position, with Saturday's dramatic defeat in a six-pointer against Aston Villa leaving the Hoops rooted to the bottom of the table with eight games remaining.
