We look at the five biggest transfer flops from recent Premier League seasons, so prepare yourselves for these transfer shockers!

5. Robbie Keane | Tottenham to Liverpool - £19m - 2008

He was Britain's most expensive teenager when Coventry bought him from Wolves for £6 million in 1999 but when he arrived at Liverpool his LFC career lasted just under 5 months. He scored just 7 goals in 28 games for the reds before a return transfer to Tottenham. That equates to just 1 goal every four games, and this is why the Irish striker makes the list.

4. Darren Bent | Sunderland to Aston Villa - £18m - 2011

With experience for England’s National Team, not such an obvious choice, but with a high transfer fee we can see why this was another flop. Currently Bent has played 60 games for Aston Villa scoring only 24 goals he averages he scores 0.4 goals a game, which, for an £18m price tag, is far below what it should be.

3. Robinho | Real Madrid to Man City - £32.5m - 2008

The talented Brazilian looked a fantastic signing when the deal was done, a fresh legged trickster with bags of ability looked set to set the Premier League alight, yet finds himself joining Keane and Bent on the flop list. Playing only 53 games for City he netted only 16 goals to sum up a poor career move to Man City. This gives him an average of only 0.3 goals per game.

2. Fernando Torres | Liverpool to Chelsea - £50m - 2011

This shock move turned out to be a bad one for Chelsea, the Spaniard started his career with Liverpool in the Premier League and showed how good he was, but at Chelsea we've seen a less than clinical Torres and for £50m you can't take risks. In 116 appearances for Chelsea a poor 28 goals have been supplied through El Nino, which equates to 0.24 goals per game, which is just below Keane's low record in this list for goals per game.

1. Andy Carroll | Newcastle to Liverpool - £35m - 2011

This perhaps was the easiest player to select to top the list. What could be perhaps seen as a panic buy from the sale of Torres, this was an awful decision from Liverpool. Now out on loan at West Ham, his record at Liverpool is abysmal. 58 games with only 11 goals is quite simply terrible. 0.19 goals per game is the worst goals to games ratio on this list.
