David Beckham has never put in a more complete performance than he did against Greece at Old Trafford in 2001, and the England captain did it just when his country needed it most.

The former Manchester United and Real Madrid superstar covered almost every inch of turf on that memorable afternoon, and it was fitting that it was Beckham's last gasp goal that sent England into the World Cup.

England were heading into the playoffs before Beckham fired in a trademark free-kick in the final minute, and it will go down as one of his best, and not just most significant.
