After three good results in a row, things are suddenly looking better for Chelsea.
Losing 1-0 in Romania to Steaua Bucharest was a bitter pill to swallow, and Chelsea looked in disarray following a poor first half showing at Old Trafford and were 2-0 down at half time.
Since then, however, there has been a big improvement.
Rafa Benitez must take credit for the changes he made in Manchester which helped them rescue the tie and keep them in with a chance of retaining the trophy. So too, must Eden Hazard who changed the tempo of the game after his introduction.
They were perhaps unlucky not to win the game following a stunning David De Gea save from a Juan Mata shot. In any case, the draw felt like a win after such a terrible first half display.
Chelsea then overcame Steaua 3-1 on the night and 3-2 on aggregate. Fernando Torres played well despite his penalty miss and he scored the goal which sent the team through. Yet again Juan Mata and Eden Hazard were simply fantastic with both men grabbing assists.
Another win was sealed against West Ham who were dominated by the genius of Hazard and Mata, just like Bucharest before them. The Belgian also added a goal to his tally, and Frank Lampard scored his 200th goal for Chelsea as well.
It really does seem that Chelsea, and their key players, could be hitting form at the perfect moment in the season. With big games coming up against the likes of Liverpool and Tottenham, it is a crucial time as they look to secure a top-four finish.
And who knows, they could pick up two trophies as well.
