Frank Lampard is 34-years-old and a man on a mission. He's breaking records for fun after becoming England's highest scoring midfielder of all time with 28 goals after scoring in the 8-0 win over San Marino.

Lampard has continued to impress on the international stage and will be hoping for a place in the side when England travel to Montenegro on Tuesday night.

His England team-mate Jermain Defoe singled him out for special praise.

The Tottenham forward told reporters: "He finishes like a forward. There are not many like him, he loves scoring goals and, when he gets the chances he doesn't miss.

"I don't know his situation at Chelsea but in my opinion he is someone you can't replace because of the amount of goals he has scored over the years.

"He is a special player and can easily go on for another two or three years.

"At the end of the day you know you are going to get goals. You know what you are going to get with Frank and goals win games."

Frank Lampard is having a storming second half of the campaign after struggling with injuries and is Chelsea's top scorer in the league.

He has shown his class in recent months, however is yet to be offered a new contract at Stamford Bridge.

Surely the Blues must extend his contract further. Do you believe he can go on playing at the highest level? Or is it time for Lampard to hang up his boots? Express your views and opinions below.
