Liverpool and Tottenham could face competition in the race to sign Christian Eriksen this summer according to the Daily Express.

Eriksen has emerged as one of the most exciting youngsters in Europe in recent years, and was the youngest player to appear at the 2010 World Cup in South Africa.

Both Premier League clubs have been linked with a move for the talented Dane in the summer.

The 21-year-old revealed last week that he was unsure of where he will be playing next season, giving rise to speculation he could be on his way to the Premier League.

Now however the Daily Express report, citing sources in Italy, that Inter Milan have entered the race for his signature.

The Italian giants have jettisoned some of their biggest names in recent months and are looking to rebuild with  a core of young talent  - and have reportedly identified Eriksen as the man to lead their revival.

Andrea Stramaccioni's side showed what they were capable of earlier this month by beating Tottenham 4-1 in the Europa League at the San Siro, only to exit the competition on away goals. While their Serie A form has been poor this season,

It had been claimed that Liverpool and Tottenham were the only clubs left showing an interest in Eriksen after the likes of Arsenal and Manchester United pulled out of the race for his signature.

Both Spurs and Liverpool are said to have been scouting the talented youngster in recent months and are set to go head to head for his signature.

Spurs remain hopeful that Eriksen's former Ajax team-mate Jan Vertonghen, now at White Hart Lane following his summer switch, will be able to persuade him to head to White Hart Lane.
